And just for your info, it's M O B I L E, not M O B L E. LOL. I'm actually using Mobile Speak currently, but after using it now for almost two years I've come to the conclusion that of the third-party screen readers I prefer Talks. I don't know exactly why but I do. I'm going back and forth with myself about getting an IPhone when the time comes to upgrade, thereby saving myself the almost 300 extra bucks I'd have to pay for Talks or just getting a Nokia, which is the phone model I've discovered I prefer, and getting Talks again. It's a surprisingly tough decision since though on the one hand I don't want to spend the extra money on a third-party screen reader that isn't even going to work with every application installed on the phone by factory default, and yet on the other hand with as much texting as I do the touch screen, though undeniably usable with Voiceover, may make that a bit tricky given how accustomed I am to physical buttons.

Ahh but brian, with the iPhone 4g having a bluetooth keyboard option will be very nice.
I've recently spent the past 30 days testing out MS 4 to determine I won't be purchasing the upgrade, I'll just hang in there until the iPhone 4g comes out and though I hate to do so, i'll drop VZW, and move to at&t.

Yeah, you can text and go online with Mobile Speak. One of the reasons I prefer Talks though, is because of the ability to use Eloquence as my synthesizer.

Do those work with Talks? I can't remember. As for the IPhone, the Bluetooth option is all well and good if you can afford to buy such a keyboard. There's no guarantee that I would be able to, since the IPHone isn't exactly cheap. I haven't decided for sure though.

I guess I am the odd one out, I have the touch pro2 running moble speak 4 and love it. Kay I am running moble speak, I can use all the programs on my phone with no probly. I like how moble speak4 has redesigned its method of touch screen. As for talks I am sorry I don't like beeing held to just one phone in the windows plat form and I am not a fan of nokea. Sorry for those who are anal about spelling. enclosing, ya the Iphone is nice but I refuse to go to ATT just cause they have the Iphone.

Wow, that's awesome. The only problem I had with W 6.5 is it ate my battery. Even with an extended one, my battery only lasted 8 hours or so. Whew!

Do you know why talks is the only screenreader with eloquence? Because nuance, the multimillion enterprise that is good because it buys other companies that had the real inovation, messed it up for mobile speak, on purpose!

Post 15 by starfly (99956) on Monday, 08-Nov-2010 11:23:41

How did they mess it up for mobile speak?

Post 16 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 08-Nov-2010 15:00:20

How would I know? Anyway, mobile speak used to have eloquence as a paid extra until nuance, made the software fail from string ms used. That's why I wouldn't buy talks.
